Likhandra Art Society's heritage initiatives create opportunities for people to explore India's diverse cultural legacy through heritage walks, field visits, storytelling, art workshops and immersive experiences.

These programs encourage awareness of cultural heritage while highlighting the importance of preserving traditional knowledge and making heritage accessible to wider communities.

Heritage Walk

Travel Back to the Pre-Historic Era

On 30 December 2023, Likhandra Art Society organized a Heritage Walk at the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, Madhya Pradesh.

The initiative offered participants an opportunity to experience the living history of human civilization and explore the deep connection between art, culture, storytelling and nature.

Participants explored prehistoric cave paintings depicting hunting, dancing, rituals and daily life, gaining a deeper understanding of early human creativity and cultural expression.

Celebrating International Museum Day

Heritage Walk at State Museum, Bhopal

On the occasion of International Museum Day 2025, Likhandra Art Society organized a one-day Heritage Walk at the State Museum, Bhopal.

The initiative celebrated and promoted the rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh through interactive storytelling and digital exploration.

Participants engaged with significant artefacts, rare collections and cultural treasures, creating greater awareness of the cultural legacy of Madhya Pradesh.

Heritage Village Walk & Art Workshop

Soil & Soul

A Journey Back to the Roots

The Heritage Village Walk and Art Workshop was organized on 3 January 2026 at the Mud Houses of Tourism Village, Bacha, District Betul, Madhya Pradesh.

The program engaged 50 women from the village community and provided hands-on training in Gond Art, a traditional tribal art form of Madhya Pradesh.

The initiative focused on skill development, cultural preservation, creative expression, women empowerment and strengthening the connection between heritage, tourism and community-based creativity.
